Skydance Paramount Plans to Remove Nearly 2,000 American Positions – Report

Paramount Skydance plans to start significant workforce reductions beginning on 27 October, removing nearly 2,000 US jobs as part of a expense reduction strategy worth $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.

The workforce reduction follow the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August with a value of $8.4bn.

More global layoffs are likely, with Paramount Skydance aiming to announce all specifics during its Q3 financial results scheduled for November 10.

Earlier reports stated the company aimed to cut between 2,000 and 3,000 jobs before the start of November.

By December 2024, the organization retained nearly 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts and 3,500 temporary project employees.

The organization has not provided a response on the matter.
